• Invited speaker, “Leading is about serving: Servant leadership, emotions and conflict management” A talk delivered at the UQ and Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Leadership Excellence Program on the 9th of July, 2016. The program specifically targets active life savers across Queensland aged 18-30 years who aspire to become leaders and want to develop both personally and professionally. The one day event was opening by the UQ Vice Chancellor- Professor Peter Høj
• Invited Speaker, Unleashing your negotiation skills, Talk delivered at the “Negotiating skills for career progression for women's program” organised by UQ for women Senior Lecturers (2011).
• Member, UQ Senate Standing Committee on Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (2004-2006) University of Queensland Staff Representative (Academic and Research). I was a Discussant/Panellist on “Multiculturalism and our University today” Diversity Soap Box Forum organised by UQ Equity Office for the University Community.
• Member, Cultural and Linguistic Diversity and Indigenous Australians (CALDIA) Sub-Committee of the UQ Senate Committee. My major contribution was to raise awareness of UQ senate members through the CALDIA sub-committee to the literature on covert discrimination and particularly the outcomes of my own research in the area cultural diversity in teams. Based on the raised awareness, a lunch time discussion on Covert Discrimination was mounted involving people across all works of life at UQ (2007- 2008).
• Invited Speaker “Becoming an effective supervisor” TEDI, University of Queensland, St Lucia (2002). Spoke on how culture impacts student-supervisor relationship

ANZAM Online: Reviewing for JMO
• Lead the organising team for the 2016 ANZAM Doctoral Workshop, My responsibilities included: • Successfully persuaded UQBS Head of school to sponsor the workshop
Prepared the budget
Successfully persuaded ANZAM board to include the Research pitches in the doctoral workshop for the first time in the history of ANZAM doctoral workshop
Organised and led the pitch committee of judges to evaluate the pitches and select awardees
Organised the awardees to present pitches
Awarded certificates and prizes to Pitch winners
• Board member, Australian & New Zealand Academy of Management (2014-2015). ANZAM is the premier organisation for management educators in Australia and New Zealand. This role involves leading and making strategic decisions about issues affecting ANZAM members and management education in Australia and New Zealand. While on the ANZAM board, I was secretary to the Board.
As part of my duties while on the board, I led and co-organized national and regional workshops targeting RHD students and Early Careers members of ANZAM (2014-2015) for increased retention. I was also involved in giving feedback to the RHD students on their papers and research proposals and I have made rewarding friendship with students over the Tasman Sea.
• Associate Editor (2015 till date), Journal of Management and Organization (JMO). JMO is one of the leading journals for Management Education in Australia.
• Invited by Australian Research Council as an assessor and expert of international standing in my field (2010).

• 2014 Program Chair – 27th International Association of Conflict Management Conference, Netherlands. In this role, I led an international team in putting together a program of activities for the conference.

Community/ Engagement Scene
• Invited panellist, Council for Young Africans Living Abroad (CYALA) first meeting, 25th of Sept, 2015. I told my life story as a migrant and a mother, my role as a management educator to inspire the young Africans living abroad.
